Dar-us-Sakina

(House of Tranquility)

Dar-us-Sakina is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the Muslim community of Houston.  Our platform is a safe space for people of all abilities and their caregivers.  We inspire the community to abandon stigmas and embrace individuals with disabilities with empathy and respect.

Our services

Dar-us-Sakina fulfills its mission via programming in three key service areas: education, support, and community awareness. Within this framework, we provide a diverse array of opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their families.

Education

We offer educational services for children, teens, and young adults with disabilities. From our Sakina Sunday School to our esteemed Teen and Adult life skills program, there is something for everyone!

Support

We offer a comprehensive support network, trainings, and assistance for families of individuals with disabilities. Support group meet ups, mental health workshops, and respite care for your children during our events, are just a few ways we got your back!

Community Awareness

We are committed to expanding our community and raising awareness about individuals with disabilities through our volunteer and internship programs, youth group trainings, and more!
