Dar-us-Sakina provides inclusive opportunities and support to individuals with disabilities in the Muslim community of Houston.
Today, we support 581 families across the Greater Houston area, families who rely on Dar-us-Sakina for access to Islamic education, life-skills development, inclusive opportunities, and crisis support.
A large proportion of our programming are Zakat-eligible, allowing your donation to encompass both Zakat and Sadaqah to directly uplift individuals and families facing ongoing financial hardship due to disability.

Can you donate Zakat to Dar-us-Sakina?
Yes, you absolutely can! Dar-us-Sakina is a Zakat-eligible charity, as determined by our Advisory, Shaykh Joe Bradford.
Donations marked as Zakat at the time of giving are used by Dar-us-Sakina for one of two purposes:
- To support special needs families who are in financial need and/or crisis
- To support those of our programs that serve older teens and adults with special needs who are dependent on others for care and unable to generate income to sustain themselves financially
